The Sabi Sand area is a malaria risk area in the summer months. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is made up of several private game reserves that share unfenced borders with each other and with the Kruger National Park, adding up to more than 2,5 million hectares of wildlife territory, known as the greater Kruger National Park.

Game Lodge: Elephant Plains Game Lodge offers comfortable style and affordable luxury. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 22 guests, and overlooks a permanent waterhole on the banks of the Manyeleti River. The lodge comprises of six, glass-fronted, luxury suites, each with a lounge area, en suite bathroom with inside/outside shower, and private deck with views of the riverbed. All luxury chalets feature air-conditioning, overhead fans, wood fires, mosquito nets and a safe. One chalet has been specially prepared to accommodate disabled guests. A further five original rondawels are set in a beautifully landscaped garden. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with shower, bath and air-conditioning. The Lodge provides tasty international cuisine and South African specialities, complimented with carefully selected wines, and presented buffet-style to their guests.
Game Viewing: Elephant Plains Lodge, situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park, is world-renowned for excellent game-viewing, including the Big 5.

Airport: The KM International Airport is about 180 km away, and Hoedspruit Airport about 100 km away. The Lodge can arrange transfers from most local destinations.
